I started writing as a child and have enjoyed creative writing for most of my life. In college, I worked as an editor and later gained experience with publishing and printing companies, as well as in public relations. I began focusing seriously on writing novels after my children were born. With two babies close in age, I spent much of my time at home and reading and writing became a creative refuge while I cared for them.

In 2015, my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Both of my children were later diagnosed with autism and eventually, I discovered that I too was on the spectrum. Shortly after, I became a divorced, single mother.

I tried to balance working with raising my children, but their needs required around-the-clock care. We lived on an extremely tight budget and somehow, we made it work. My children were always well dressed, well fed and deeply cared for, but I often placed myself and my own needs on the back burner.

Writing was my one true luxury.

My son’s diabetes frequently kept me awake throughout the night. To remain alert while monitoring his blood sugar, I escaped into fictional worlds and wrote stories. From 2015 to today, I have written over 28 novels and 12 children’s books. I have also outlined more than 400 additional stories in what I affectionately call my “Someday Book.”

I have no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Yes—but AI does not replace my imagination, my voice or my writing.

I primarily use AI as a creative production tool to help bring my completed stories to life through images, animation, audio and other interactive enhancements. Grok is my go-to platform because it is fun, approachable and allows me to pair visual elements with the worlds and characters I have created. I also occasionally experiment with other AI tools.

I also use AI as a second set of editorial eyes. Because I am an independent author working with a limited budget, I do not have a team of editors working for me. AI gives me an affordable way to identify grammatical errors, inconsistencies and other details I may have overlooked.

However, I give it very specific instructions: preserve my original story, voice, meaning and context. I ask AI to point out possible errors—not to rewrite the story or transform it into something that is no longer mine. I personally review every suggestion and decide whether it belongs in the final manuscript.

The stories, characters, plots and emotional journeys are mine. AI simply helps me refine my work and present it in exciting new ways.

For years, my priority was caring for my children and making sure they had everything they needed. Now that they are 13 and 14, I have more freedom to focus on the body of work I created during those demanding years.

In 2026, I built this website to finally share my stories with readers—and to create a place where my books, characters and imagined worlds could grow. I had a vision of the type of novel I wanted to create and the method to create it, but I've never been able to successfully achieve that. Thanks to Grok and other forms of AI, I now can create in the way I always intended.

Some are complete, some are still being developed and others are waiting for the right moment to be brought to life.

My stories are inspired by imagination, emotion, love, survival and the belief that even during life’s most difficult seasons, we can still create something beautiful.

Writing helped me stay awake through long nights, process challenging experiences and hold on to a part of myself while caring for my family. Each story carries a little piece of that journey.
