Writing has always been my escape from the world.

In the quiet darkness of night, while the rest of the world slept,
I found comfort in creating stories. Whenever I didn’t quite fit in
or life didn’t go as planned, writing was always there—steady, patient, and waiting for me to return. Each story I write carries
a piece of that journey—a reminder that even in solitude, creativity can be a companion, and imagination can light the way through
the dark.

I hope you enjoy my stories--I created them for you.

The Long Nights That Built These Books

Portrait of author Gillian Roth

I started writing as a child and never really stopped. In college I worked as an editor, then spent years in publishing, printing and public relations—but it was after my children were born that storytelling became something I needed rather than something I did. With two babies close in age, reading and writing turned into a creative refuge.

In 2015 my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Both of my children were later diagnosed with autism, and eventually I learned that I am on the spectrum as well. Soon after, I became a divorced, single mother. Their needs required around-the-clock care, and we lived on an extremely tight budget—yet somehow we made it work. My children were always well dressed, well fed and deeply loved, even when I put my own needs on the back burner. Writing was my one true luxury.

My son’s diabetes kept me awake through the night, and to stay alert while monitoring his blood sugar I escaped into fictional worlds. From 2015 to today I have written more than 28 novels and 12 children’s books, with over 400 additional stories outlined in what I affectionately call my “Someday Book.” I have no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Every story begins with me—my voice, my characters, my imagination. I use AI the way an independent author with no team uses any tool: a second set of editorial eyes, and a way to bring finished stories to life through images, animation and audio. The plots, the characters and the stories are mine.

My children are 13 and 14 now, and in 2026 I finally built this place to share the work created during those demanding years. My stories are about imagination, love, survival and the belief that even in life’s hardest seasons we can still make something beautiful.

Settle in and enjoy the stories. I created them just for you.
